St. Charles Catholic School Presents “Wear a Hat Day in Honour of Johnathan”

The students and staff from St. Charles Catholic School,
26 Charlotte Street in Chelmsford will be participating in a “Wear a Hat for Johnathan Day” on Friday, May 4, 2007 at the school.

Last year, St. Charles Catholic School participated in a walk-a-thon to raise money for the Northern Ontario Families with Cancer Organization; this event was spearheaded by David Nicholls a Grade 7 teacher. The school first started the fundraiser as a tribute to Johnathan Hetu, a 13 year old student at the school who passed away with cancer in September of 2004.

Mr. Nicholls along with the school’s staff, the entire student body and the school community would like to remember Johnathan’s legacy again this year by hosting a “Wear a Hat Day” at St. Charles Catholic School and are inviting all of the sister schools of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board to participate. All SCDSB students and staff will wear a hat on May 4, 2007 and will donate one dollar to the Northern Ontario Families with Cancer Organization in Johnathan’s honour.
